Information--This WebQuest was created for use by 3rd grade students, but could be used by 4th and adapted for older students. The primary information will be gathered through internet sites. Other media center materials can also be a valuable source of information.

Journal--Students will create a scrapbook type journal printed on aged or yellowed paper. Encourage language from that time to help them get into their character. This can be gained by reading some books and discussing the language and beliefs of that time period. It makes the activity more authentic if the journal takes on an olden day appearance. Students can also use erasable ink pens to recreate the quill and ink effect.

Time--This WebQuest will take approximately 2 weeks.

Product--The final presentation will require collaboration with team members about the information they have researched. There should be 3-4 students on each team. It might be necessary or beneficial to assign roles so that one team member does not overpower the group. Encourage students to refer to the rubric as they work through this webquest.
